Getting Started
QuickPower works in four steps:
- Load a Fixture Manifest in Manage Inventory — this is your fixture library (names, categories, wattages). Loading a manifest replaces whatever library was there before.
- Start or load a Show from the welcome screen — a show is just a production name plus a set of quantities.
- Get quantities in — type them directly into the Power Calculation table, or bring them in from a spreadsheet via CSV or Vectorworks import.
- Read your totals, and export a Safety PDF or Show file when you're done.
Fixture Manifest
The manifest is an .xlsx file with columns: Category, Item Name, Is Included (Y/N), Wattage, and an optional Voltage. It defines your whole fixture library. Export your current library as a manifest from Manage Inventory, edit it in Excel, and load it back in.
Import Show CSV — standardized format
This is the general-purpose way to bring quantities in from any stock system or spreadsheet, without needing Vectorworks. Your CSV needs a header row with these columns:

The easiest way to build one of these: go to Power Calculation → Import Show CSV → Download CSV Template. It generates a spreadsheet already listing every fixture in your current library with a blank Quantity column — just fill it in and drop it back in. Anything that doesn't match your library lands in a review queue where you can link it to an existing fixture or add it as new, exactly like any other import.
Vectorworks Gear List Import
An optional, Vectorworks-specific import for LX/AV gear-list exports — off by default, toggled on in Settings. If you don't use Vectorworks, the CSV import above covers the same need without this.
Shows
A show file (.qpshow) holds a production name and its quantities — nothing about your fixture library itself. Save Show downloads one; Load Show reads one back in and matches its fixtures against whatever library is currently loaded.
Backup & Restore
Everything in QuickPower lives only in this browser. A backup (.qpbackup) bundles your library, category order, voltage, and company branding into one file — use it to move to another computer, hand an identical setup to a teammate, or just keep a safety copy.
Settings
Mains voltage controls every Amps calculation in the tool. It's used by default for every fixture — but any individual fixture can override it in Manage Inventory (or via the manifest's Voltage column) if it genuinely runs on something different, for rigs that mix voltages. Overridden fixtures show a small voltage badge in the calculation table. Company details replace the default logo and name on exported Safety PDFs. The Import Gear Lists toggle turns the Vectorworks-specific section on or off.
